Nettle

Small Pet Select really advocates for lots of diet variety. But, that variety has to be the right stuff. And we love nettle for diet variety. Nettle is a favorite rabbit herb and guinea pig herb.

Nettle is high in protein, with a good calcium-phosphorus ratio, and contains a lot of silica (the thing in greens that helps keep teeth ground down). It’s also a great  a source of iron and vitamins, which makes it a terrific all-around healthy forage for rabbits and guinea pigs.

That’s a lot of good stuff packed into one herb! Your rabbits and guinea pigs might not care about all of those benefits, but we sure do.

Adding nettle as a forage atreat keeps your animal from becoming bored. So try it out! Your small pet will go gaga.
