Variety is so important in small animal diets. Rabbits and guinea pigs,  are natural foragers. They don’t eat only one type of grass, flower, herb or bark. They eat a little bit of this and a little bit of that. (Depending on what’s seasonally available, of course.) Without diet variety, they can suffer a lack of trace minerals and other nutritional components. Small Pet Select’s Zen Tranquility herbal blend provides the variety they need to mimic forage.

This small animal herbal blend is made of whole foods. A whole food = something to eat that’s still in its natural state, and is bioavailable. It’s still what it ever was. Nothing is taken out of the original plant. A berry that has vitamin C is a whole food. A leaf is a whole food.

A whole food gives vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, fatty acids, and other micronutrients in a way the body needs them and understands them.

Rabbit and guinea pig teeth also require a variety of foods. They need to bite, and chew, and crunch. They need to pull at bark and twigs. If they don’t get a chance to do all those things, mouth health can deteriorate and tooth problems crop up.

Aurora T. ★★★★★

My rabbits are picky about dried forage, but this blend disappears fast—they dig through the bowl for the flowers and herbs first. The variety is spot-on for their natural foraging instinct, and the bag keeps the mix fresh until the last handful.

The dried leaves and petals have a lovely natural fragrance, and my guinea pig actually sorted through the bowl to find the flower bits first. It’s nice to offer something beyond plain hay, and the bag arrived fresh with no dust.

Hazel ★★★★★

The variety in this blend is fantastic—my guinea pigs go straight for the dried flowers and herbs mixed in with the grass, and I love watching them forage for the different bits. It's clearly made their daily feeding more interesting, and the bag has lasted us a solid few weeks.
